Disney Asia is now available at Hong Kong Disneyland, with fun and exciting entertainment for the whole family. Opened in 2005/2006 at Lantau Island, Penny’s Bay, Hong Kong, this first Disney Asia featured some of the Disney’s classic attractions, resort hotels and shops with unique themed and also some of the finest Asia restaurants, all within the Disneyland area. Astounding live entertainment with all the magical imaginations are what people expect to find in every Disneyland, the very reason why Hong Kong Disneyland was made according to the original Disneyland, California. As the heart of Asia, Hong Kong is also reachable from most major cities such as Philippine or Beijing and served by many well known Asia flights.
Hong Kong Disneyland was publicized in November 1999 as joint project between Walt Disney and Hong Kong Government, scheduled for grand opening in 2005. Design work was supported by local architectural firms in Hong Kong and in later construction preparation transferred to Hong Kong, while the master plan and design, creative development and engineering, project management, research and development performed by Walt Disney Imagineering of Disney Company.
Disneyland Hong Kong is the fifth theme park with Disneyland style in the world and the first with most recreated designs from original Disneyland, California. One of the original designs is the Sleeping Beauty Castle, along with many other classic Disney characters and attractions. Original attractions which specifically designed for Hong Kong combined with parades of local culture and entertainment is the distinction of Disneyland Hong Kong.
